Trade Mark Protection

Monday, October 15, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Everybody is familiar with the concept of trade marks or brand names, and especially with the power and attraction that can emanate from a trade mark. Not many are familiar with the requirements to obtain trade mark protection, the registration process itself and with what it takes to create and maintain strong trade mark rights. This introduction will give an overview of the trade mark application and registration process in the UK, in Europe and on an international level, as well as some practical tips on what to consider when creating a brand and what to do, once the trade mark is registered, to take care of it.

This informal 90 minute seminar, hosted by Barbara Niemann Fadani from Dehns Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, will offer insight and tips on how to create and protect strong trademark rights on a national, European and International level and provides an opportunity for your questions to be answered in a Q&A session.

Barbara is a fully qualified attorney-at-law and specialized IP lawyer and litigator, admitted as representative with the European Union Intellectual Property Office EUIPO, the European Courts and the bar in Germany. She advises clients in trade mark, design and copyright protection and infringement matters and prosecutes trade mark and design applications on a European and International level.
